Whey Protein

Whey protein is made up from all 9 amino acids and is a complete protein, whey is the liquid left behind when milk is turned into cheese. Whey Protein can be categorised into three factors Concentrate, Isolate and Hydrolysate. Concentrate This type of protein contains around 80% protein, but each serving will contain around 5 grams of carbohydrate and 3 grams of fat. It is a popular protein because of its nice taste and it is easily mixed with water. Isolate This type of Whey Protein contains around 90% protein. Its process is different to concentrate as it has been filtered through to remove fat and carbohydrate, so it contains a very small amount of them. Hydrolysate This type of Whey Protein is 95% protein as it has also been filtered through again, it can be absorbed into the muscle very quickly. It also contains digestive enzymes naturally within it, which helps to break it down slightly better and that’s why it is faster absorbing.
