How to Store Sunflower Seeds

Sunflower seeds should be grey/white in colour when purchased. If they appear to be slightly yellow in colour then they should not be consumed. This is due to the high fat content that can cause seeds such as sunflower seeds to turn after long periods of time. To avoid this, you should keep sunflower seeds in an airtight container of sealed packet and keep out of direct sunlight in a cool, dry space such as a kitchen cupboard.

Sunflower seeds should last for 2-3 months, however if you keep them in an airtight container in the fridge it will extend the life for up to a year.
