Comforting mac and cheese perfect for the colder weather - and it's vegan too!

Brewers yeast powder has been used in place of nutritional yeast in this delicious recipe. Brewers yeast offers a plethora of health benefits and is a great addition to hearty bowls of pasta.

Brewers yeast is rich in B vitamins and can boost the nutrition in your favourite, comforting meals.

    Cook the pasta according to instructions and set aside

  • 2.

    In a large pot over a medium heat, melt the vegan butter. Once melted add the diced onion, pinch of salt and saute until soft

  • 3.

    Once softened, add the flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, thyme and paprika and stir until combined

  • 4.

    Gradually add in the milk whisking as you pour

  • 5.

    Cook for around 5 minutes until thickened

  • 6.

    Add grated vegan cheese, mustard and brewers yeast and whisk to combine

  • 7.

    Once combined, add the cooked pasta to the sauce and combine well (add a little extra milk if required to reach desired creaminess

  • 8.

    Season to taste

  • 9.

    Pour into an oven proof dish and a little extra cheese if required and sprinkle with breadcrumbs

  • 10.

    Grill for 3 minutes until breadcrumbs are toasted and cheese is melted

  • 11.

    Serve immediately and enjoy
