Easy vegan burger recipe for a weekend treat. This recipe simply used ingredients you probably already have at home in the cupboard!

Quick and easy to whip up using textured vegetable protein mince and a few seasonings for a burst of flavour.

Serve with pickled vegetables (see recipe) made using our delicious pickling spice, a little salad and a toasted bun!

  • 1.

    To prepare, soak the TVP soya mince in 1 cup of water for around an hour until it has doubled in size

  • 2.

    Prepare the vegetables - boil and mash sweet potato, dice an onion and mince 2 garlic cloves

  • 3.

    In a pan, add olive oil and onions and saute until translucent

  • 4.

    Add garlic, salt and apple cider vinegar and saute for 1-2 minutes

  • 5.

    Add the agave syrup and continue to cook to caramelise the onions

  • 6.

    Add the coriander and other seasonings

  • 7.

    Add the mashed sweet potato and soaked TVP mince

  • 8.

    Place in a bowl and allow to cool slightly

  • 9.

    Use your hands to make burger shaped patties

  • 10.

    Lightly oil a frying pan and cook each burger on both sides until golden brown

  • 11.

    Add to a lightly toast a burger bun and top with lettuce, tomato and smashed avocado!
