Festive Porridge 3 Ways

Pimp your porridge this Winter with these three festive themed porridge recipes!

Note: These ingredients are all made to be able to tweak to your own personal taste, so don't be afraid to play around a little with the amounts here!

  • 1.

    Porridge Base: Combine the oats and water or milk in a saucepan on a medium heat and warm until the porridge starts the thicken and bubble a little (about 5 mins). Remove from the heat when the porridge is at the consistency you prefer.

    Mince Pie: Warm the mincemeat in a saucepan for a few minutes. Once warm, stir most of the mincemeat and the mixed spice and orange juice into the porridge. Serve with a dollop of mincemeat on the top and garnished with the orange zest and nuts.

  • 3.

    Pumpkin Spice: Once your porridge is nearly cooked, stir in the spices and pumpkin puree and warm through. To serve add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup to taste.

  • 4.

    Apple & Cinnamon: Cook the apples, cinnamon, raisins and water for 10 minutes over a medium heat until the apples have softened. Save a few thin slices for the top if you like. Once cooked, stir the apple and cinnamon mixture into your cooked porridge, garnish with a few fresh apple slices and raw honey (or maple syrup if you prefer) and enjoy!
