There is nothing more comforting than a warm bowl of creamy porridge oats so why not make your oats a little more exciting and indulgent.

Millet flakes make a delicious alternative to oats and when combined with coconut milk creates a truly luxurious breakfast.

    In a medium pan, add the millet flakes and water and bring to the bowl over a medium heat.

  • 2.

    Once boiling, reduce to a simmer to thicken

  • 3.

    Mash the banana and and add to the pan and stir regularly to prevent sticking

  • 4.

    Add a little more water if required for a thinner consistency

  • 5.

    Once thickened and cooked, add the coconut milk for a creamy and luxurious finish.

  • 6.

    Transfer to a bowl and top with fresh fruit, nuts and seeds for a nutritious start to the morning.
