Almond Milk Turmeric & Pepper Latte
- Recipe by: Donna Essex
There is nothing quite like a soothing and comforting hot drink regardless of what time of year it is.
This turmeric latte using almond milk is perfect for vegans (simply replace the honey with alternatve sweetener) and is the ultimate pick-me-up drink for those mid-afternoon slumps.
The combination of turmeric, cinnamon, ginger and long pepper creates a warming spice that will soothe away the stresses...

1.
Using a spice grinder or pestle and mortar grind the long pepper.
-
2.
Add almond milk and all the spices (except from the Ceylon cinnamon stick) to a blender and whizz for a minute or two to combine the flavours
-
3.
Once blended, pour into a pan and add the Ceylon cinnamon quill and warm through on a low heat for around 5 minutes, be careful not to boil as this will burn the milk
-
4.
Once heated, remove the cinnamon stick and pour into your favourite mug and stir in 1 teaspoon of raw honey or vegan alternative and stir well
-
5.
Put your feet up, relax and enjoy!
-
6.
Note: you can use 1/4 teaspoon of ground Ceylon cinnamon instead of a quill if you prefer. If using ground Ceylon cinnamon, add this to the blender along with the other spices and milk to whizz up before warming through in the pan.

- 1 tsp Turmeric powder (any)
- 1 Ceylon cinnamon stick (quill)
