About Organic Wholegrain Oat Flour

Organic oat flour is made simply by grinding down wholegrain organic oats at high power to produce a light, powdery ingredient that is highly versatile when it comes to cooking and baking. If you choose to use organic oat flour in place of an alternative flour you may need to adjust other ingredients slightly. Oat flour contains more moisture than other flours and may need other liquid ingredients adjusting to accommodate. It’s good to note that oat flour also doesn’t contain gluten, therefore will most definitely need more yeast to be added in baking things like bread - or you could try vital wheat gluten to add additonal elasticity to bread.
Organic oat flour has its benefits - it is higher in protein than other flours, is lower in carbohydrates and has all the natural goodness found in oats and wholegrain. It is a great organic ingredient for healthy creations as it is naturally sweeter and will require less sweetening from other ingredients.
