About Organic Red Clover Seeds for Sprouting

Red clover seeds are becoming increasingly popular as our love for fresh produce grown at home grows. Our red clover seeds are fantastic for sprouting and topping delicious, fresh salads that can be enjoyed all year round. These seeds, once sprouted, have a similar taste to alfalfa seeds and are easy to produce at home, it simply requires a bit of time, love and patience. Enjoy creating photo-worthy salads topped with sprouted clover seeds, crunchy sunflower seeds, olives and hummus for a delicious and tasty summer meal.

How to sprout your red clover seeds

  1. Rinse your red clover seeds in cold water to remove any debris
  2. Transfer to a clear jar or sprouting container and add around ½ a cup of cold water.
  3. Place a mesh sprouting screen or lid and leave to soak overnight
  4. Once well soaked, drain the water out of the jar/container and place at an angle to allow air to circulate and leave for at least 6-8 hours
  5. Rinse thoroughly and drain well.
  6. Repeat step (5)  2-3 times a day for 3 days
  7. After a few seeds have begun to sprout, move away from sunlight
  8. Repeat step (5)  for a further 3 days until seeds have sprouted well
  9. Rinse and drain thoroughly one last time before transferring to a container to store in a refrigerator ready to consume.

Sprouted red clover seeds will keep in the fridge for around a week. Stir into stir fries, add to sandwiches and top fresh salads for a nutritious ingredient grown easily in the comfort of your own home. Buy clover seeds online in small or bulk sizes depending on your requirements.

Suggested Use
1. Soak for 8 hours or overnight 2. Drain, rinse and add fresh water 3. Drain and rinse twice per day until sprouting has completed 4. Store in fridge for up to 1 week
