About Organic Millet Hulled

Organic hulled millet is a versatile small grain that can be used in place of couscous or rice at meal times. Millet needs to be hulled before human consumption as the grain is naturally hard and indigestible. This product has been hulled, however It is still advised to soak with 3-4 times the amount of water to enable easier digestion and allow our bodies to receive the full benefit of all of the nutrients. 

Millet has a mild, slightly sweet flavour that can compliment almost any recipe.  You could try toasting millet before adding any liquid to enhance the nutty texture and flavour of the grain. Millet can also be used to make millet porridge and sweet treats such as superfood bars with added dried fruits and nuts.

Cooking Instructions
1. Soak for 6 hours or overnight. 2. Drain, rinse and add to pan. 3. Cover and cook for 10 minutes or until tender. Stirring occasionally.

Tasty, and good value for money

I love the price of the millet but not as much as the millet itself - easy quick cook and you can add almost any ingredient to make a tasty wholesome dish. Our favorite is to disk overnight than cook for 7+10 mins and add some soaked dried fruit and coconut milk - delicious.
