Organic Konjac Glucomannan Powder 500g

Organic Konjac Glucomannan powder is made from the root on the Konjac plant, and is a natural & tasteless water souble fibre. It is commonly used in calorie restricted diet, as its gives the feeling of fullness when consumed. Recommended usage is 1g, 3 times a day before meals with 1-2 cups of water to ensure it reaches your stomach. Also being a soluble fibre, it helps feeds the friendly bacteria in the intestine.

About Organic Konjac Glucomannan Powder

Organic Konjac Glucomannan is a soluble fibre and derives from the konjac plant.

Konjac Glucomannan is a completely natural, odourless ingredients and can be used as in conjunction with a calorie restricted diet to give the feeling of fullness, but also a thickening ingredient for dishes such as soup, casserole & gravy.

To use Konjac Glucomannan as a thickener:

  • Use around 1 teaspoon for every 1 cup of liquid
  • Disperse in a small amount of water (or other liquid) before adding to anything
  • Slowly add to other ingredients whilst they are cooking and stir continuously 

Note: The reason we advise to mix with water prior to adding to any other ingredients is because Konjac Glucomannan will react to the liquid present in the rest of the dish and thickening immediately forming lumps in your food. Always be sure to mix first and add gradually, stirring the entire time.

Ways to use Konjac Glucomannan:

  • Use to thicken gravy
  • Add to soup for a thicker, more satisfying texture
  • Use in winter meals such as stew and casserole
  • Use to bulk our pie fillings for a hearty meal
  • Use in dessert such as filled cakes and puddings

Important: Glucomannan is not suitable for people with swallowing difficulties, as the fibre expands. Glucomannan (Konjac) Powder should always be taken with adequate water.
