Italian Style 00 Flour

00 Flour also referred to as "doppio zero flour", is a traditional Italian style flour, often used in the making of Italian bread, pizza bases & pasta.

The name 00 flour comes from the Italian classification system of different grades of flour, going from 00 (the whitest) to 04 (which is closer to wholemeal). In the production of 00 flour, only a small fraction of the grain is used which is why it is so pure and white in colour. 00 flour is also finely found make it very easy to use in cooking but is not as fine as something like cornflour.

While 00 flour is very similar to other strong white flours, many chefs and foodies strongly recommend the use of 00 flour when making these traditional Italian foods due to the superior taste and texture it provides.
