Energy Foods

Foods are an important source to get natural energy. Energy comes from the macronutrients in carbohydrates, fat and protein which is found in food.

Glucose is the body's primary source of energy, carbohydrates are broken down into glucose so keeping these in your diet is necessary to obtain energy. Fat provides around half the energy of your body, fat from food is broken down into fatty acids and held as a reserve in the body until we need it. Protein is a longer lasting form of energy and is broken down slower, it is primarily used when calorie intake is too low and energy cannot be obtained from carbohydrates.
