There are many ingredients that can be added to bread to help keep things interesting and to perfect the perfect crust. We also have a very useful tip for you when it comes to baking bread:

Tip: Place a baking tray at the bottom of the oven and fill with boiling water, this will create a steam that will help create a perfectly crisp finish to your bread.

Each type of bread requires slightly different ingredients in the recipe beyond the type of flour that you choose to use. For example most breads require yeast to be added, however soda bread recipes do not use yeast, but they do use milk and lemon juice to create a buttermilk. Sourdough has to have a sourdough starter created prior to making the bread and rye bread requires molasses to be added to make a subtle sweetness.
