Peppermint

Peppermint or Menthe Piperita is a hybrid perennial mint resulting from cross pollination between the watermint and spearmint. Peppermint has an exceptionally long history of traditional use to reduce stomach upset and herbalists also use it to treat tension headaches. It is also a popular flavoring in tea, ice cream, confectionery, chewing gum and toothpaste, and its essential oil is used as a natural insecticide.
