Milk Thistle has been shown to increase production in the liver of the body's own antioxidant, glutathione, as it contains the compound silymarin. It helps eliminate toxins and regenerate cells. Our ability to absorb vital nutrients declines the more there is toxicity in the liver as it processes everything we put into our bodies. Therefore we are inadequately equipped to naturally deal with this toxicity and need some help occassionally.
