Brown rice nutrition: brown rice vs white
White rice goes though more proccess than brown rice as the rice germ is separated from the starchy center. In these proccesses the loss of nutrients is broad and significant. Plain white rice has far less Vitamin E, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folacin, Potassium, Magnesium, and Iron. Added to that, the dietary fiber contained in white rice is around a 25% of brown rice.
Also because brown rice is less energy intensive it is better for the environment.
